About Me
I am a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist, certified Personal Trainer (ISSA and NCSF), certified Yoga Teacher.
I also hold an Associates in Arts in Sports Medicine Preparation and a Masters in Business Administration
I have an interest in functional exercise, postural awareness, functional movement, breathing and a neurocentric approach to movement (it’s the brain that moves the muscles not vice versa!)

My Story
I’ve always considered myself a fit and healthy person despite the sedentary lifestyle (years of sitting behind a desk). After I got pregnant, I was so exhausted that I was not able to engage in any physical activity after work. After a complicated labor that left me completely drained physically and a 3-month parental leave, I happily returned to work, naively hoping to restore my life and prenatal body back.
But my body didn’t bounce back
Unfortunately, my body failed miserably to restore anything :). The chronic lack of sleep combined with stress from work and motherhood contributed to my zombie-like appearance but what was worse, something changed “down there”. At first I was hoping that me peeing my pants with every minor cough or sneeze with somehow miraculously change after 3 months, then 6 months then 9 months postpartum.
But nothing has changed, I was not able to run, nor jump, laugh, cough or shout without some incontinence,
I tried going to the gym but I felt something was not alright. I felt empty. Despite me being already a certified personal trainer, I was NOT able to fix myself. I saw an internal physical therapist who prescribed kegels and sent me home after a 30-minute consultation not even wanting to see me again. My ob-gyn kindly explained that she herself was not able to resume running after her 2 kids so I should just get used wet pants, as well. Upsetting, right?
Then the headaches kicked in
Since I was a mother, my body was the last priority on the list, I kept waiting it out. When my kid was about 4 years old I started coming home with persistent headaches until one day at 9 am I already felt the pressure on my temples. I was tired, in pain, frustrated with my body and completely devastated. It was so unfair!

Failed by doctors
An in-person physical therapist prescribed a couple of exercises to do at home and was eager to dismiss me after 3 months. My physician was open with me that the neurologist will just push meds which I was opposed to.
Fixing my body from the scratch
I was stuck but I decided that living like zombie was not living worthy. I found a great online rehabilitation program from Sarah Duvall (she’s the best!) and started fixing my body from the scratch. Unfortunately, when you have a toddler and a full time job, and daily headaches, there’s only so much time and energy left in a day for yourself.
But progress takes time and energy
My progress was extremely slow and 4 years after my kid was born I was still leaking, super-tired and frustrated. It was clear to me that some radical change was needed. So I quit my job to get my life together. I had learn how to fix every minor injury that I had, because, well, it turns out you can’t cheat your body especially after a certain age!
I realized just how much misconception there is about movement and the postpartum female. Since I became a mother I value my time and energy much more than before and I refuse to train with anyone who hasn’t got at least some education on how to train women.
I have two personal trainer certifications and the section on pregnancy/ postpartum was barely one chapter.
Do you think it is enough? Would you trust your body, money, time and energy to a person that knows this much or little about you?
